The Rainforest Alliance strives to transform tourism business practices and consumer behavior by promoting a socially and environmentally responsible industry that protects ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them.
Following is a list of tourism businesses that, in collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance, have accepted the challenge to proactively incorporate concrete business practices, improving both their performance as well as that of the tourism sector as a whole.
Forming part of this group of tourism businesses is not to say that they are certified by the Rainforest Alliance, as this organization does not offer certification in tourism. Some of these businesses have also not yet achieved 100% sustainability as this is an ongoing process. A significant percentage of them are already certified by Ecuadorian certification program SmartVoyager or are in the process of becoming certified. All of these businesses have committed to a continual process of making their management practices more sustainable and their progress is regularly monitored as part of their agreement.
The Rainforest Alliance gives well deserved recognition to each business on this list for their commitment to improving sustainability in the tourism industry and helping to conserve our planet.
